Demolition

So my band finally got our demo done. I'm hesitant to put it up here, because I think it sucks, but I know you guys want to hear it.

http://listn.to/ElectromagneticPulse

Although, I must ask, if you decide to 'Like' it, or whatever the hell facebook calls it, please don't mention anywhere how you know me. Just leave it up to chance that you found it and liked it.

Thanks guys.

The song 'No Justification' is the one where I co-sing the chorus with Wyatt, if you're wondering. Otherwise, I'm on drums and bass.

Let me know what you think!

Over Thinking, Over Analyzing Separates The Body From The Mind.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the last post. I've thought it over some, and I am going to tell my parents. Now I just have to figure out when/how. I'm going up to the cabin this weekend by myself, maybe my brother, so it'll be after that. I'm hoping to plan out how to approach them. Not so much how I want the conversation to go, because I can't predict that, just how to break the ice.

JJ, like I told Rowan a couple of months ago, age is just a number. I don't care if you're 10 or 100. If you have knowledge I can learn from, I want to hear it. And you definitely have knowledge. I remember reading your post about when your parents caught you and Mike. Not how I would want them to find out, but it could have been worse. You were lucky enough to have very loving parents who are very supportive.

Jimlad, well they know it's not drugs, because I've been sober for over 5 years, although I guess they could suspect a relapse. Talking about sex with parents sucks, but at this point I see it as a necessary thing. And your right, I think it will be a lot better to tell them, and then ask for help with my situation. Instead of just saying I'm gay, and walking away.

Time will tell. But I'm sure it will be fine. I just have to get the courage to tell them.

The last couple of days I've been putting a lot of this energy into my drumming. It helps me to clear my head, and feel better about myself. Over the weekend I was drumming so much, and really, really fast, that when I stopped and stood up, I couldn't put weight on my right leg and I almost fell over. I guess that's what happens when you do 2+ hours of 200 bpm (beats per minute). Gotta love punk.

But the last couple days has been more intricate. TOOL has always been one of my favorite bands to drum to, but it is some of the most complicated stuff ever. The little accents and nuances are ridiculous.

The last month I've been working on their song, Schism, and I've finally gotten down to where I don't even have to think about it. It's my current favorite song to drum too.

This week has been the song Lateralus, from the same-named album, and I'm about 97% there. I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with time signatures, but most music is in 4/4. Four beats per measure, quarter note gets the beat. Well to start Lateralus, it is in 4/4, then the chorus goes one measure of 9/8, one measure of 8/8, and one measure of 7/4. It's really confusing, and if you don't understand me, I apologize. Then the verse is in 5/4, which isn't really too bad, because it's consistent. There is a breakdown about half way through, where the bass, guitar, and vocals are in 6/8 and the drums are in 5/8. Not only is it a confusing drum part, when you play with the song, the rest of the band is different and it gets really confusing.

Here is a breakdown of the 5/8, 6/8 part. (not by me)

I figure it's a great way to pass the time, and put my energy into positive things, instead of worrying what's going to happen with my parents.

And finally, if you want to really get crazy, there is a mathematical equation called the Fibonacci sequence. If you don't know what that is, basically you start with two numbers, 1 and 1. You add them together and you get 2. Then you take 1 and 2 together, and you get 3. Then 2 and 3, 5. You take the last two numbers and add them together. It goes on and on and on (like me right now) :P. When graphed it creates an indefinite spiral.

Anyways, TOOL likes to mess with your head a bit, so the lyrics in the song are delivered in the Fibonacci sequence, according to syllables. It is really rather interesting, although annoying at times because I can no longer just listen to the song. I have to sit there and analyze it. Which is also funny because the chorus starts with, 'over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.' This video does a better job explaining everything. And it has cool pictures from the Hubble telescope.

I don't know if anyone will find any of this interesting, but hey, it's my blog.

Again, thank you everyone for your comments.

Be well.

Help

Ok, I'm having a dilemma and I need some help/advice from you guys.

This past spring was when I finally came to the conclusion and acceptance that I am gay. Obviously, this took up quite a bit of my time, spending hours late at night thinking things over and whatnot. Then I found the blog world, and I spent even more time trying to learn as much as I could, and help me figure out what the hell was going on with me.

I was going to school at the time, and didn't do too well. I had to drop a class for medical reasons (unrelated to anything), I passed one, and I got an incomplete on another because I need to finish my paper (still). Well the school says that because I didn't 'pass' 2/3 of my classes, that I am on academic suspension. So basically I can't register for classes in the fall. I can for next spring though.

As you would expect, my parents weren't too thrilled to hear about this. Now they want to know what happened, and why I didn't pass my classes. They understand about the dropped class, but they don't get why I got an incomplete. I told them about the paper, but they still want a reason.

So basically, I'm wondering if I should tell them the truth, that I'm gay, or make up something else? I don't want to lie to my parents, but this is huge. And not exactly how I want to come out. I'm 95% sure they will be fine with it, although maybe surprised, but there is always a chance of something going wrong. I don't know what to do.

So I've come to the one place I can talk about this and ask for help. So please, give me some feedback on what to do. I'm freaking out and am scared shitless and don't know what to do.

Thank you all.

Hell Week

I just had the worst week in a long time. Some good things, but mostly bad.

I suppose start with the good.

Last Sunday I recorded the bass tracks. It was a lot of fun, but really hard at the same time. I've never been a great bass player, and I wrote most of the parts on guitar. But when it came time to play them on bass, they were a lot harder than I thought. The strings are thicker and harder to press down, the frets are spaced farther apart, and the neck is longer. So after about 30 minutes of warming up, I got to work. Got most of them down in one take, including Anthem (the video from a few posts ago), which was the one I thought I would never get in one take. There are some quick changes that I thought would screw me up. But once my arm got loosened up, it was no problem. I listened to some rough cuts of the songs all put together, and I can honestly say I am happy with the results. Wyatt wants to redo one of the vocal tracks, and then we're done. We sent Aaron's dad the other tracks and he is working his magic on them. I think we're redoing the vocals on Thursday, and the rest of the tracks should be done on Friday, so it shouldn't be too much longer.

Lynn and Doug ended up needing me from Monday to Wednesday, so it didn't interfere with the recording, which was nice.

However, on Sunday (well it started late Saturday) the transmission went out in my truck. No first gear at all. GREAT. I worked it out with my brother that I would take his car on Monday and he would take my truck to the shop to look at it. So I load up his car and head up to Lynn and Doug's house. Get up there with no problems, but when I get there I see Doug's car is still there. OK. Maybe I'm early and he leaves in a little bit. Well I go inside and he informs me he isn't flying and they don't need me. GREAT. AGAIN. SO now I'm pissed off. I reworked my plans to be here, drove an hour up here, and now I'm not needed. I wasn't sure what to do, so for the time being I hung outside in the sun listening to music with the cousins. Again, I decided I had nothing else to do, so I stayed up there until Wednesday.

Around nine that night, Erik calls me and says my tranny is in bad shape and not to drive it. OK. But he needs his car back for work the next day. GRRR. So I drove home at about 10, dropped off his car, and then went to the BP to talk with Aaron. He said I could borrow his civic again, which was awesome. So when he got off, we went to his house, grabbed the civic, and I took off back to Lynn and Doug's. I could have just gone home, but I was in a shitty mood and wanted the drive to think. Finally got back up there around 2 AM.

Tuesday was no better. Hung out during the day, and then went to James' baseball game in the evening. He's really good, but I've never seen one of his games, so that was nice to see. His team was annihilating the other team, which was great, but then my uncle called the other team a 'bunch of slack-jawed fagots'. WHAT!? It took all the self control I had not to throw an elbow in his face. I was pissed. So I walked away and smoked a cigarette.

During all of this, I was texting Paul talking to him about his car. It hasn't worked for about a month, and we've been trying to schedule a time for Erik to look at it. Well Paul is getting pissed at Erik, because he isn't finding time to look at it. Erik has had a lot of side jobs lately, so he would tell Paul maybe Friday, or maybe Sunday kinda thing. Well Paul didn't understand the word maybe, and is all worked up about it. So he starts bitching about it to me. After a little bit, I said, I'm not going to sit here and defend my brother for something he has no control over. He just says, LOL it's no biggie. HUH? He just spent the last 15 minutes saying how angry he was at Erik, then he says no biggie? I just said whatever, but then he comes back and starts bitching about me. Saying the next time I need help with a stereo or whatever, he'll be busy. Seriously? So now I'm being punished for something my brother did, when he didn't even do anything! He just kept bitching and bitching, and finally I just said I don't know why we're fighting, but I'm done. So now Paul isn't talking to me. I figured I would give him a couple days to cool off, but he still won't answer my calls. Urg. So I was in a shitty mood for the rest of the night.

Wednesday nothing exciting happened, so I came home. My mom left for the cabin a little before I got home, so I was home alone. My dad was leaving from his job site in Wisconsin on Thursday to head up to the cabin, and I was going to go up on Friday.

Erik said there were some bad sensors in my transmission that needed to be replaced, and that should fix the problem. So he ordered them and it became a waiting game. Aaron said I could keep his car for the weekend which was very nice of him.

Thursday night I went to see TOOL. They're one of my favorite bands, and this was the fourth time I've seen them. Erik, my friend Josh, my friend Matt and I all went. We had floor tickets, so we got there a bit early to get a good spot. As we're walking into the arena, we see seats on the floor. OK? Turns out, it was assigned seating on the floor. We checked our tickets, and we were 8th row, dead center. Sweet! Turns out it was still worth it sitting outside for 6 hours to get tickets. We missed the opener, which was fine, and about 30 minutes later TOOL came on. I can honestly say this was not only the greatest TOOL show I've ever seen, but it was the greatest concert I've ever seen. The lighting was new and amazing, and they played a lot of songs that we've never seen live before. It was definitely the best thing to take my mind off my shitty week. After the show, we dropped Matt and Josh off, and went home.

Friday, loaded up the car and went up north. I was about a mile from Lynn and Doug's house (it's on the way) when I started to notice a brown mist on my windshield. I was close enough to their house, so I stopped there to check it out. I lifted the hood and see oil EVERYWHERE. SHIT! Then I noticed that the oil cap was gone. Nowhere to be seen. Now it's 3 PM on the Friday before the 4th of July. Trying to find parts might be a problem. So I borrowed one of their cars and went to NAPA. Nope. They could have one shipped by Saturday morning, but nothing today. Crap. So I went to O'Riely's (would have been my first choice, if I knew where it was first) and luckily they had one. So $5 later, drove back and put it on. I checked the oil, and I didn't loose as much as I thought, so I topped it off, and then sprayed down the entire engine bay with brake cleaner to get rid of the oil. All in all about an hour delay.

Oh yeah, when I was up at Lynn and Doug's earlier in the week, I lost my license, but didn't realize it until Wednesday when I got home. I only used it once at the gas station up there, but Doug went and checked and they didn't have it. I stopped there to clean my windshield, and figured it couldn't hurt to ask. When I did they said someone had already been in and they didn't have it. But then another cashier asks what my name is, and then she holds it up. YAY! Turns out they looked in the wrong drawer. Oh well. At least I got it back.

The rest of the drive was boring, just how I like it when I want to think. Got up there around 6 PM, and we went out for dinner. It was me, my parents, and my grandparents. Erik doesn't really come up anymore when everyone else is there. He'll usually go up with friends when it's empty.

On Saturday, Lynn and the kids showed up. Doug had to fly. James also brought a friend, Jay. Then all hell broke loose. Our cabin isn't huge, and having 10 people there, 4 of which are high energy teenagers, is intense.

Over the weekend, my dad and I re-carpeted our pontoon, because the old carpet was 26 years old and rotting away. Was a huge ordeal, and we both got covered in the high strength adhesive. We could barely move our fingers when we were done. And since it's outdoor carpet glue, it isn't water soluble. So we had to bathe in gasoline. It's a good thing I like the smell of gas, because I smelled like it for the rest of the day. The rest of the weekend we hung out and had a good time. It was great to watch the fireworks over the lake too. I would have liked to have been out on the boat, but we had to let the glue dry. So we watched them from the deck instead.

On Monday everyone went home, and it was nice to have some peace and quiet again. No problems getting home this time, and at 11 I met up with Aaron to give him back his car. We both drove to his house, left one car there, and then he drove me home. Erik got the sensors for my truck over the weekend, and got them installed. Fortunately it fixed the problem, and my truck is as good as new.

I just got a text from one of my cousins saying they might need me tonight/tomorrow, depending on if Doug can get home or not. So now I'm just sitting around waiting to hear from them. I really hope if they do, they actually need me.

Well that's about it. My week from hell. But I survived it. Hopefully Paul will get out of his funk and answer his damn phone. God, I hope this week is better than last week.

I Can't Sing

So I had more band practice today. Well, actually it was more recording. Today was the vocals. I was expecting it to take a long time, but it actually went pretty fast. Wyatt, the singer (rapper, actually), got most of the songs down in one take, which was pretty sweet. I thought it would be a lot more since he is a perfectionist. The only problem was the chorus for one song. Our old guitar player used to sing it, and it had a deep reggae/Jamaican feel to it. Well Wyatt can't actually sing and hold a note, Slo-Mo can sing, but has the wrong style for that part. He reminds me a lot of the singer from Incubus. And I can't sing. So we were trying to figure out what to do. We tried Wyatt singing it alone, and we almost died. Then Aaron tried, but it didn't fit. So I tried it. Actually a lot better than anyone was thinking, but still not great. So then we decided to try me and Wyatt at the same time. And surprisingly it worked. It's not the greatest solution, but it's the best of a bad situation. And it's only a demo, so it's not that big of a deal. But I was really surprised at my voice. I've never considered myself a singer. I'll sing along in the car or shower, but never seriously, you know? So now I'll have four different credits on the album. Drumming, bass, vocals, and writing. All I need to do is lay a guitar track down, and I've done everything! I guess some minor engineering too, but that hardly counts since we're doing it ourselves on the computer. I'm pretty happy with the results so far too. Sunday I'll lay down the bass tracks, and then we're done. Then we just need to mail it to Aaron's dad and he'll mix and master it for us, and the demo's done! Sweetness.

Wednesday I had a little adventure. I got home from a bike ride, and Erik was outside working on a car, as usual. He asked if I wanted to something adventurous tonight, and skeptically I said sure. Turns out he needed to tow a car from his work to our house. Now for most people that wouldn't be a big deal. They'd either call a tow company, or rent a trailer or something. But no, not us. Time to bust out the old tow strap! So we jumped into my truck and went to his shop. The car wouldn't turn on at all, so it had no power brakes.

Now I don't know if you know about towing a vehicle with a strap, but the tow vehicle does the accelerating, while the vehicle being towed does the majority of the braking. That way the strap stays tight, and you don't jerk the car around when you start moving again because of the slack being pulled out. Make sense?

Anyways, the car had no power brakes, so it was going to be a challenge. A 2,500 pound car trying to stop a 6,000 pound truck. So we took off without any major problems. Towing like that isn't exactly what you would call legal, so we were on the lookout for cops. Fortunately we didn't see one the entire trip, but it was a tense ride, checking all the cars around if they were cops. We made it the 15 or so miles back to my house (by back roads, no highway) uneventfully and then unhooked the car. Now it's sitting outside my house, waiting for Erik to have time to fix it.

It wasn't the first time I've towed a car like that, but it was the longest distance I've gone towing without a trailer. And I was glad Erik was able to muscle the brakes well enough not to run into me when we stopped.

Well that's about it. I should be getting my new phone tomorrow. I went to the store on Tuesday, but they had to order one for me because they didn't have anymore at the shop. They said 2 day shipping, but since it was after 3PM, they said it would probably be Friday. I hope it comes, I'm tired of not having a phone! Although it is nice not having to talk to people unless I want to.

My mom said Lynn and Doug might need me Sunday/Monday, but will call me tomorrow and let me know. I kinda hope they don't, since I'm supposed to record the bass tracks on Sunday. I guess I could do it some other day, but we really want to get it done. Oh well, time will tell.

Well I'm out of things to say for now. Everyone be well and be safe.

Here is a video from my friend's band, Phased Array, that was in the battle of the bands last week. Here's 'Portrait of a Crumbling Empire'

The bass player, Blake, is also the owner of the car we towed the other night. A little bit of trivia for ya.

Don't Let The World Bring You Down

Hey everyone.

Well I didn't make it to the battle of the bands last week like I wanted to. I was waist deep into a audio install in Cory's car, and didn't finish until almost midnight. Oh well. My buddy's band won, so they're moving on to the next level, sometime in July.

Wednesday-boring. Parents left for Idaho, and then I played some frisbee golf with Paul. That's it.

Thursday I was supposed to go up and babysit, but I got an early morning call saying Doug poked himself in the eye with a stick (don't ask) and he wasn't going on his trip, so I wasn't needed. Great. Had they told me the day before (when it happened) I could have gone with my parents to Idaho. So now I have nothing to do for the weekend, and I'm bored out of my mind. So I decided to go up to their house anyways. They didn't need me to babysit, so I just got to hang out all weekend instead. Still had fun, although I didn't make any money.

A few interesting things did happen while I was there though. Right when I walked in the door when I got there, Mik (Ryan's friend who is basically living with them now) runs up to me, shirtless, and gives me a big bear hug. He hugged me for a good 20 seconds before he let go. He's pretty cute, although his ego is a bit large, so that was a nice little surprise to start the weekend. On Friday we're hanging on the couch watching a movie, and Mik comes and sits next to me, shirtless (the a/c broke so it was pretty hot in the house), puts his arm around my shoulder, his leg over my legs, and kisses me on the cheek. Then he stays there and cuddles with me for the next few minutes watching the movie. Then he gets up and walks away, no words spoken. Weird. I don't think he's gay, but he sure is acting like it. I have no idea of what to make of it. But he's a nice kid so the attention is nice.

Since all the beds were full, I slept with James in his bed. Thrusday night was fine, other than him stealing the blankets all night, but again things got a little interesting on Friday night. He went to bed before I did, and when I came in I did my best not to wake him up. I failed, but he only looked up, and then rolled over and went back to bed. It was a little early for me, so I had some trouble falling asleep. After about an hour I got up to go pee, and when I came back and got into bed, James rolled over, spooned into me and layed his head on my chest. So I threw an arm over him and tried to sleep. It was pretty cute, I don't think he knew he did it. At some point I woke again, but didn't move. I was just laying there, when I noticed the bed was creaking a little, and kinda bouncing. Apparently James thought I was still asleep, because when I looked over at him, he was lost in his own world masturbating. Woah! Not what I was expecting to see at 3 AM. So I rolled back over and gave him his privacy. But I knew when he was done when I felt the bed shake and I heard a poorly stiffled moan. After that he feel asleep and neither of us spoke of it. I'm pretty sure he doesn't know I caught him, but hey, he's 14. He's always horny. At least I was.

And the last interesting thing, well more annoying than anything, was I managed to drop my cell phone into the lake while trying to untangle the tow rope for the tube. My aunt ran over the rope and it wrapped around the motor. So I tried to unwrap it, and it feel out of my pocket into the water. It was only a couple feet deep, but it was really weedy and it took us a couple of minutes to find it. I finally got it and ran inside to try and dry it out. I hit it with a hair dryer for like 10 minutes, but it still wouldn't turn on. Oh well, stuff happens. So tomorrow I'm going to Verizon to get a new phone. Could be worse I guess. At least I have a phone.

That was pretty much all the stuff worth mentioning that happened up there. I came home on Sunday and went to Wyatt's house to watch Slo-Mo record his guitar tracks. He got them all done that day, and we're all pretty happy with the results. We grilled up some chicken and then called it a day. Thursday Wyatt starts recording his vocals, so we'll see how that goes. After that, hopefully next Sunday, I'll lay down the bass tracks and then we're done. We're going to send it to Aaron's dad who will master it, and then we can release it. I can't wait!

Today, nothing. I threw a round with Paul, and went to the chiro. Then sat around waiting for my parents to get home. They got home around 6, and we hung out while they relaxed from all the driving. Pretty boring trip for them, except for some intense weather. Wedding was good, but short. They spent 41 hours at the camp where the wedding was, and 43 hours in the car there and back. They don't think it was worth it. But if I was there to do the driving, they probably would have liked it more.

I'm pretty much on call for babysitting, so I don't know when I'll be back there. Pretty boring week ahead. Now that my dad is back, we're going to get back into the headlight issue. I really hope we get them working. And a new phone hopefully tomorrow. And then some more chiro appointments.

You know, when I type all this out, it seems like I have a pretty boring life. A lot of the same stuff, day in day out. Well the weekend up north was a little different, but at home it seems the same. Sorry if I'm boring any one. You could ask me questions about myself, or something you want to know, and that might make things less boring. I'm an open book, just ask.

And finally, I would like to send my congratulations and love to Paul and Layna, who just got engaged the other day! I wish them all the happiness in the world, and may their mariage last a lifetime!

Late,

-Kevin

This might be more palatable for you to listen to. Not as much screaming or high energy. The problem with having as much music as I do, I find something really good that I haven't heard before, or haven't heard in a long time, and listen to it A LOT. So I've been on an Incubus kick this weekend. Here they are playing 'The Warmth' from their second album and Red Rocks.

Within A Mile Of Home

An interesting weekend full of ups and downs.

So I went up to Lynn and Doug's place on Friday. I think I got there around 4 or so in the afternoon. Doug was flying, Lynn was running errands, Ryan was sick, James was at a friend's house, and Taylor was hanging out with their neighbor Kallan and Ryan's friend Mik. Since Ryan was sick, it was pretty subdued, at first. We just hung around watching crappy movies on tv for a while. Then James came home. And he brought friends. So all of a sudden it was everyone from before, plus Lynn, James, Jay, Jake, and Tristen. Right around then Mik left for the night, so that helped. But then another friend of Taylor's came over, Jenny, which was even worse because unlike Mik, she likes to talk and has a lot of energy.

Now the house is filled with four fourteen year old boys hopped up on sugar and caffeine. Great. So we all went outside to play some night games (minus Ryan). Just ghost in the graveyard and the like, which I haven't played in like 8 years. It was kinda nice to just be a kid again. After that, we all went downstairs so we wouldn't disturb Ryan. The boys started playing X-Box, and the girls went to Taylor's room to do whatever.

At some point the girls came back out, and wanted to play truth or dare with us. This could be interesting. So we started out, and everyone is nervous and doing truth over and over. Finally Jake (the macho, arrogant one of the group) started doing dares, and they got interesting quick. Started out as lick a sweaty, dirty sock, and progressed from there. At some point a gay comment was thrown into the mix, and Jake just flipped. He started saying all of this homophobic shit, and saying how wrong homosexuality is. Then I started to notice all the quick "fag" or "gay" comments he was making. After a little bit, it really started to get on my nerves, and I had to do my best to control myself. Both internally and externally. I did try and punch holes in his logic, by asking him to explain how something was gay or whatever, but without much success. If he wasn't 14, I probably would have punched him in the face. But that would also raise a lot of questions that I don't want to answer.

I just get so fucking tired of all the ignorance, intolerance, and hatred in the world, you know? Why can't people just accept the fact that homosexuality is not a sin, or a crime, or anything bad at all? We're just like them, but prefer the same sex. Big deal. I've noticed some of my friends share the same, "gays are bad" mentality, and it's really starting to drive me up the wall. Part of me wants to come out to everyone, so I can prove that there is nothing wrong with being gay, but the other part doesn't want to say anything. Mostly out of fear. There are certain individuals I know, although not really friends anymore, that do not like "fagots" and would love to beat the crap out of one to "teach them a lesson". I'm sure if they found out about me, they would love to come after me. We haven't been on the best terms for a couple years, and I can't even remember why. So we do our best to avoid each other. But they're one of the reasons I'm glad I carry a knife with me wherever I go. But I don't expect anything to happen, at least yet, so let's move on.

Finally, around 5 AM the kids started getting tired, and I realized I had a 3 hour drive ahead of me still. Great. So I decided to take a hot shower to wake myself up again. I also downed a pot and a half of coffee and about six mountain dews. I jumped back in the truck and took off. About thirty minutes later, I was getting really tired (surprisingly, what with all the caffeine and sugar I just drank) and was trying to stay awake. I was on I-35 heading north, driving 75 MPH, when all of a sudden a deer runs on to the road about 30 feet in front of me. SHIT! I slammed on the brakes as hard as I could, and hoped I wouldn't hit him. The deer got to the ditch about 3 feet away from my bumper and ran off. I started driving again (thankful no one was following close behind me at the time) and drove the last 5 miles to my first exit. I pulled into a parking lot and just sat there shaking, as the adrenaline pumped through my veins. After smoking a cigarette, I got back on the road and was wide awake. I made the rest of the drive fine, and didn't see another deer the whole way, thankfully.

I got to the cabin at about 8 AM and went straight to bed. I was lying there trying to sleep, when all of a sudden my heart started racing, I started shaking again, I got extremely hot, and I couldn't breath well. I started freaking out and grabbed the fan next to me to try and cool off. I tried to control my breathing, and after about 3 minutes I began to calm down. I don't know what the hell happened, but it scared the shit out of me. I was up there by myself in the middle of nowhere. I would have been screwed if something had happened. But fortunately nothing did.

Woke up a few hours later to more rain. It seems every time I go to the cabin it rains. Oh well. Hung out watching movies and tv for a while and then started playing my bass. I am the temporary bass player for the band, and am in charge of writing the parts for the demo. So I got to work coming up with new riffs and whatnot. I got two songs done, and then had some dinner. Spent the rest of the night watching movies and then went to bed rather early.

Sunday was basically the same, just shorter. I got up around 10, and had to leave at 1 to make it back in time for practice. So after lunch I loaded up the truck and started the long drive home. I got home a little after 4, and practice was at 4:30. Perfect. Went to Wyatt's place and started hammering out the rest of my drum tracks for the album. Got them all done in one or two takes, and then we called it quits. We have to move all the mics and re-due the levels for the guitars, so we're going to wait until Thursday to start recording that. Hung out at home for a while, and then my buddy Anthony called to hang out. He's staying at a hotel with his dad right now, so we went and hung out in the hot tub there for an hour or so. Then we went to Perkins and grabbed a bite to eat. I dropped him off at the hotel and then came home and went to bed.

I didn't do hardly anything today. I woke up and wanted to go play some disc, but Paul wasn't feeling well so he didn't want to go. I suppose I could have gone alone, but what fun is that? So I went on a bike ride around town for a bit, and then went home. I played some drums for a couple of hours, and then hung out with my mom for the night. And now here I am. Pretty boring day.

Tomorrow I have the chiro, and a battle of the bands I might go to. We'll see. My friend's band is playing so it would be cool to see them again. Wednesday my parents are leaving for Idaho for my cousin's wedding. I was going to go with them, but I have to babysit on Thursday/Friday so I can't go. I didn't really care about the wedding, because I think they're boring, but I was really looking forward to the drive. If you haven't figured it out yet, I love to drive. So a 20 hour drive across country is perfect for me. And I thought it would be cool to be in the same state as JJ. Although the wedding is in Coeur d'Alene instead of near Boise. But still, it would have been cool. So JJ, if by some chance you see a gold minivan with a Minnesota plate that says LATER, that's my rents! I doubt it, but you never know.

I'm sure I'll be back on before the weekend, but I'll be babysitting my cousins Thursday/Friday. I just hope I don't have to see Jake again. I don't know if I can control myself again. But it'd be cool to see Tristen, I really like him, and started to bond with him at the cabin. We'll see.

Well that's about it. This seems really long. At least to type it, maybe not to read.

Everyone be well, and take care.

I've been listening to a lot of Flogging Molly lately, and this seemed like a fitting song.
