  1. What a rockin' song!

    Phil Lynott was a great front man, eh? I really dig his bass playing, looks like he's using a pick.

    And I love the drum part, lots of 8th note triplets in there (you read music?)

    Someone can correct me, but I don't think either of the guitarists are Gary Moore (but you gotta love the day when Les Pauls RULED!!!)

    And, oh, is someone back in town???

    :-)

  2. Love it! A band I was with in the late 70's used this (or KISS's Strutter) as their opening song! WOOHOO!

    Have fun partying!

    Peace <3

  3. One of the greatest bands ever!

    @WARPed:

    That's John Sykes on guitar and long hair and Scott Gorham on short(er). This clip is of the final line-up (of many!) of the band, from 1983 or so. Sykes replaced Snowy White who replaced Gary Moore who replaced Brian Robertson. Midge Ure was in there somewhere, as well; I think as a temp before Moore came on board. Gorham was a constant, however, from joining the band in 1974 'til the end. That's Brian Downey on the drums and he was incredible, one of the world's most underrated players. I was lucky enough to see Lizzy twice (1978 and 1980), and they were amazing both times.

    So . . . who's back?

  4. Hey LB!!!

    Correct me if I'm wrong, so Robertson was the guitarist on the "Top 40" version of this song heard on the radio?

    And then go back and read some of Kev's recent blogs...the BOYS are back!!! And it's was a long, strange(?) trip!!!

    ;-)

  5. Yep, Robbo played on the original hit single. He left Lizzy and started Wild Horses with Jimmy Bain, who Blackmore had kicked outta Rainbow. After that, he joined Motörhead, of all bands, after Fast Eddie Clark left for cigs and never came back! But only for one album. Not sure what he's been up to in the last coupla decades.
