A Tout Le Monde

Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
I had no idea what it'd cost
My life passed before my eyes
When I found out how little I accomplished
All my plans denied

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile when you think of me
My body's gone that's all

À tout le monde [To all the world]
À tout mes amis [To all my friends]
Je vous aime [I love you]
Je dois partir [I have to leave]
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

If my heart was still alive
I know it would surely break
And my memories left with you
There's nothing more to say
Moving on is a simple thing
What it leaves behind is hard
You know the sleeping feel no more pain
And the living are scarred

À tout le monde [To all the world]
À tout mes amis [To all my friends]
Je vous aime [I love you]
Je dois partir [I have to leave]
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

So as you read this know my friends
I'd love to stay with you all
Please smile, smile when you think about me
My body's gone that's all

À tout le monde [To all the world]
À tout mes amis [To all my friends]
Je vous aime [I love you]
Je dois partir [I have to leave]
These are the last words
I'll ever speak
And they'll set me free

  2. Kev,

Yes, this is a nice thought for Grandpa.

Hope your family is doing ok.

(BTW, former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, is from my home town. I have some musician friends who used to live with him, and I have have a drummer friend, who I sometimes gig with, who toured with Megadeth.)

    Best Wishes,

Sounds like you have some pretty lucky friends! Any good stories? I'd love to hear some sometime. A good distraction would be nice right about now.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

  5. Kev,

I'll ask my drunmmer friend if he has any good Megadeth stories...(I never met Friedman myself, and never was into metal music.)

The last time I played with my drummer friend, he had a Ludwig trap set, given to him by legendary big band leader Buddy Rich! (he was one of Rich's students.)

He DOES have some good Buddy Rich stories!

How I ended up playing with the guy, I'll never know! :-D

  6. Wow, I haven't heard someone call it a trap set in forever!

How in the world did he end up as one of Buddy's students?! That's awesome. Those stories would be great to hear too!

Sounds like you have some amazingly talented friends, so were does that leave you? You must be pretty good yourself. I'd love to hear something.
